Wayne Campbell: A Celebration of Demonstration

  • Brixton Village Coldharbour Lane London, England United Kingdom (map)

Creative Resilience International were delighted to support our friend, photographer Wayne Campbell, as a media and production partner, facilitating the exhibition location and promotions.

Born and raised in south London, Wayne Campbell has always had a creative flair when it came to the arts. He has worked as an art editor in print, a filmmaker, photographer, illustrator and scriptwriter. ‘A Celebration of Demonstration’ represents not only his technically beautiful photography and illustrations but his unwavering commitment to highlighting the voices of marginalised groups and individuals through his work.

“As a black man living in London, it’s hard not to see the unconscious bias that exists in some people. I wasn’t fully aware of the depths of my activism before I attended my first George Floyd demonstration, but I certainly was afterwards. Knowing I needed to contribute to the groundswell of change, I grabbed my camera and started documenting”.

‘A Celebration of Demonstration’ featured a collection of beautifully framed photographs and illustrations supported with quotes collected during the London demonstrations of 2020.
