The Rapport Film Festival

Earlier this afternoon at @rapportfestival we had the pleasure of chairing a panel discussion on ageism, informed by the excelled depictions by these 3 great films: Ageing Is A Gift by @toyoelejo , Ted & Noel (documentary featuring activist, Ted Brown and his partner Noel) by @juliaalcamo and Irpinia by Jameisha Prescod @youlookokaytome .

In the discussion we touched on the alarming systematic ageist discrimination in the UK when accessing health services and social care. The issue becomes a bigger problem when examining the nuances of the discrimination as it relates to race, sexuality, ethnicity postal code, and so on.

Kudos to Lara Samuels, Founder of Rapport Film Festival and the film directors, who were all female, and who approached the topic with commendable command of their artistry. You provoke a collective call of action against all discrimination in health care service towards elderly people.
