Driving the need to protect Creatives

In September, the British Council reached out to us to arrange a meeting with the Honourable Rachel Magoola MP, who is also the legendary Ugandan singer and lead vocalist of the longest running music group in Uganda, Afrigo Band.

We could not be more aligned in terms of values, drive, and relentless advocates for the significance of the creative economy in Africa's development on a local, regional and global scale. I organised this brilliant interview for Rachel on the BBC, presented, produced and edited by the incredible Peter Musembi.

Rachel discusses the need to fortify, protect and elevate creatives across the artistic sectors including, but not limited to, music, fashion, art, food, production and culture. The national commitment will drive international interest and investment.

The interview is currently live on BBC Africa Daily, BBC World Service Radio and BBC Newsday. Enjoy!
